Can't seem to get the mentioned pin out ??? :-\ Any help ??
It's might not be the correct way..... but, I secure the entire bolt in a padded vise, then slip a "non loaded" and "non primed" shell into bolt face. This allows the pin to be pushed thru the hole.
There is nothing left in the bolt head "But" the retaining pin (Don't ask, Big boo Boo on my part), I can't get the pin to move either way with a drift pin.
Somehow, some way, ya need to get the ejector pushed into the bolt face a little
in order to relieve the spring tension off the retaining pin. In other words, ya need
a third hand (friend) to push on it with something like a dowel while ya drive out
the pin with the punch.

Good info. Until today, I never knew they were tapered.
Still working on it, seems to be welded in plase :-\
i guess mine is backassards cause all of mine drive out from the top of bolt out of the bottom. you should be able to see the head of the pin on one end, put the punch in the other end and dont be afraid to hit it.
Thats what I've been doing. as keeki says
the head end is nerralled so the first time you take it out it can be a booger bear. place the bolt on a block of wood, put a punch in the hole and hit it.
Forget top or bottom for a minute. The top of the pin is visible and sits in a machined out "half moon" groove in the bolt. The bottom of the pin is not visible....that's the end you want to work from. I took a small jewelers screw driver cut the tip off and use it as a punch.
Ok, Pins out, :-\ Thanks fellas.. Now I just have to get the "Rest" of the Ejector out
If you have trouble,
try soaking the ejector in kroil, put head in a vise pointing up so you can see what is going on, take a hair dryer and warm up the bolt head and tap lightly on the side of the head with a small brass hammer
I have done a couple like this

Jack you are much more sophisticated and delicate than I am. I just smack the sucker down on a block of wood and then carefully lift it up to see if the spring came out. ;D

Ok, I'm done messing with this for now, want to get the gun up and running. where's the best place to buy a stripped bolt head ?? this is for a Stevens Model 200, 22-250, Right hand, staggered feed
Midway has them but out of stock
Brownells has them in stock, they listed several ones not sure if this is the one you need but it will get you in the right place to look

Yep, Seen Midway was out, and brownells really doesnt tell you for sure what head your getting, was hopeing one of the site sponsers would step up and say "We Got one for ya" :)
Everythings out and back together now, (Had to drill what was left of the Ejector out) Thanks for the help.. John
