Was wondering if anyone knows if the 10 BA stock would fit on a 1998 Model 10gy 308 or if it can be modified to fit it. Any help would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any cool idea for me for it....

Doubt it. The older action is going to be a staggered feed with different screw spacing. There are a couple of different aftermarket options out there that are very similar to the BA stock that will work if you're willing to pay such as www.pdccustom.com
thank you for your input any other stocks you could suggest? Or mods
Tons of options depending on your end goal. You've got the more modern designs like the PDC, XLR and JP Rifles chassis systems. You've got the more traditional tactical stocks like HS Precision and McMillan. Several different stock makers or vendors will inlet a blind magazine stock for the detachable mag bottom metal allowing you to run other stocks.
+1 on the XLR, I don't have one but boy do I want one.
I don't really like the tube forend on the XLR or JP. I'm waiting on my PDC to arrive. Lead time is 10-12 weeks per their website. I'm 6 weeks into my wait at this point.
Is it possible to make a internal mag accept a external mag?
The magazine on the centerfeed actions is a function of the stock, not the action. My donor action for my PDC is a blind mag but will take the AICS mags once it's installed in the stock.
so do you think its possible to make my internal mag on my 1998 Model 10gy 308 accept a external mag pending what stock i get and mags i get?
If the stock is so inletted and you have the bottom metal, it *should*. You'll have to remove the magazine box from the action but it should just have tabs holding it in.
Ill have to tear it apart just got it and the wife hates guns so i have to do it when shes not home... ill keep you posted though thanks a lot...
Sorry any suggestions ono mags?
Well finally got to go shooting yesterday and man the scope is way low and left. and definitely need a longer stock.[/img][/img]
Yes, you're probably going to have something like 4.275" between centers on the one and maybe 4.410" between centers on the other.
