Savage 111 into 28 nosler

Hey guys new to site. So I have a savage 111 in 7mm rem mag. Was my first deer rifle bought it in 2003 New. So I ordered a 28 nosler prefit barrel for it. I keep coming up with mixed answers on Google and even some local smiths. Everyone is telling me that the detached magazine won't feed a 28 nosler. So what would my options be? Would I have to just go a chassis rout with it or could I
Get an bottom metal off another savage in a larger cal. Just loiking at options. My goal was a nice wood stock

I believe a bottom metal & CIP mags are your best option. It’s been discussed many times over the years on various forums. If you don’t like researching, just wait for Jim to answer. He knows all the best fitment specs without having to research.
