where is the serial number on a B-mag

where is the serial number on a B-mag

I have disassembled my son's B-mag .17WMR in search of a serial number, and have found two possibilities. One is a eight digit number on the trigger assembly (six digits, space, then 00); the other is a four digit number engraved on the bolt. there is NOTHING on the receiver or the barrel. Help?

Should be on the side of the receiver just ahead of the rear scope mount.
