Identifying NRA Match Rifle

I traded for a Savage NRA match rifle. Someone in its history cut the stock down, looks similar to a target stock now. I am looking at replacing the stock with a correct one. There is one I'm looking at that is described as "early". I'm not sure when mine was made and wouldn't want to purchase a stock that wouldn't fit on my rifle. Any help in identifying when mine was made? Serial is 34xxx. It currently has a scope on it, there also appears to be holes for a side mount Lyman peep sight, and also for the factory savage peep sight.
