I just picked up my very first Savage. It's a 17HMR 93. I was looking to see if there was information to date the rifle and so far I havn't found anything. It has a bull barrel, black synthetic stock. The serial number is 0386528. Pick it up in a trade along with a over and under turkish 12 gauge for my .44 Smith. Does anyone here have info on how to translate a serial number?
