Yep, they pulled it from the cartridge choices this year.
I tried ordering one 2 years ago and after over a year of waiting I gave up and got my downpayment back.
Yep, very limited factory offering. I'm guessing they probably only did one small run in the chambering each year which is why they were so hard to come by if there wasn't one already on the dealers shelf.
Which is a dang shame as the 250 is a great cartridge.
There was one on the shelf at B&B Sporting Goods in Hines Oregon just a few days ago for $695 if anyone needs one.

The cartridge was historic in my family when the 1999 Lever came out in it. Haven't been able to buy a .250 99 Savage mostly because of conditions I've seen them in.
So I wrote off buying a 1999 Savage in .250-3000 and bought this Model 14 when I found it basically abandoned on a shelf in Fulton, MO, at Dennis Denny's.
I can understand the Savage fever to own a .250.
Glauber Sports in Carrollton KY has a new Model 16FHSS 250 Savage in stock.
Yes, they made some, but I made my own with a Stevens 200 donor in 22-250 and A & B barrel from Midway. Shoots great.
Need to get a better stock sometime.
I am always 5 to 10 minutes late looking at the sale ads on here !
