Any experience with the youth model 11 with the closeable muzzle brake?

I'm looking at one locally at Jay's. I really like a short, handy, and light rifle and this seems to fit the bill. I also like the idea of the muzzle brake for occasionaly use (when I won't deafen bystanders at the range) and I can shut it off otherwise. The synthetic stock seems a little flimsy as I can twist the forearm until it touches the barrel on either side. This is a minor point unless the stock lets the action move in it and this affects the accuracy. But then again, Savage's are known for their accuracy, especially with the accutrigger which this one has. Oh, and it's in 7-08, one of my favorite calibers. Any feedback you have would be nice. I have a 7mm-08 in the M11 also. Nice & accurate. I set my accu-trigger at 2lbs. Most loads average .750" @ 100yds. I have no idea on the MB though since I dont have it on mine.
Make sure it has the 1/9.5" twist & NOT the 1/11" twist.

I have several rifles with the adjustable brake (AK) and I love it. I'm a big fan of brakes anyway and being able to turn it off, though I rarely do, is a big plus.( also a big mistake on an RUM :) ) The recoil reduction these offer is significant though my rifles equipped with the AK are long actions.

You probably won't see much of a reduction in the felt recoil with the brake on a 7mm-08 as it doesn't have much recoil to start with. The Savage AK brake (and most other OEM brakes for that matter) isn't the most efficient design to begin with in comparison to some aftermarket brakes, but it does work fairly well and gives you the on/off option which is nice.
