Synthetic Stock Repair & Mod

When repairing or modifying a synthetic stock what is the best patch material? I was thinking in term of auto body putty like the old Bondo.

Structural repairs would best be fixed using a two part epoxy. Bondo is great for blemishes but doesn't have a lot of strength. HTH
