Re: Axis bolt help-PLEASE
The bolt comes a part like a Savage accu-stock rifle, decock the bolt, and there you will find a allen hole. There is not much that cane be done to reduce bolt lift, except send it to SSS for a T&T job.
Re: Axis bolt help-PLEASE

Nope,
The only option would be to grind down the knob, and thread it and screw on one of the premade knobs. to give it a bit of length.
Re: Axis bolt help-PLEASE
I found by adding a .097 shim (a 1/2 washer from hardware store) behind bolt handle I can lower lift effort from 14 lb to 12lb
I understand this is making the firing pin spring weaker, by adding .097 more space for it -
but I think it still has enough spring to make it go boom , we'll see this week end
I also polished the end of spring & gained another 1/2 lb or so
Im gonna get his blessings on cut -weld on an inch on his bolt handle
this will help a little more Im sure- keep you posted -
this aint a bad little gun for the $
Re: Axis bolt help-PLEASE
added an inch to bolt handle helped a lot - down to 10 lb lift effort now- but it feels like much less
all I have to do now is go shoot it to make sure main spring is still strong enough - Im sure it is-
the only part savage will sell you on this rifle is the bolt handle - for 11.00
so this is reversable- if he ever wanted to- he could
the trigger went from 7 to 3 lbs
the bolt lift went from 14 to 10 lbs
thanks for the help from me & Micah
