Posted pics of the M14 today. What is the correct magazine for a 250 Savage M14.
I measured the lips of a 55102 and the one in the rifle. The one in the rifle is tighter than the 55102 but the mags are unmarked.
Also sent a question to Savage last week but I'm not holding my breath.
There is a 55101, 55102, 55103, 55104, 55106, etc. They are listed for different calibers, & being either 2rd or 4rd. The 55101 is listed for 250, 22-250, while the 55102 is listed for 243, 260, 7mm-08, 308, etc.
Definitely need the 55101 for .22-250 and .250 Savage as these cases have more body taper than the .308 family of cases. If you ever decide to punch it out to a .250 Savage Ackley Imp. you'll want to change out to the the 55102 mags since the A.I. has almost no body taper.

This is what I kinda thought, the factory mag supplied with the rifle is narrower (so 55101), saw one site that has 22-250 in the list but 22-250 & 250Sav in the description.

Got 55101 today - all is good.
