The biggest chambered in a Savage?
How big can you go? Feeding from a mag doesn't matter. Removing the bolt to eject live rounds doesn't matter. Only thing that matters is that it is a bottle neck case, no strait walled cases for me. Do they get bigger than the .338 Edge or Lapua?

.
Rumor has it that 460 Weatherby family cartridges have been chambered on conventional Savage actions.
Rumors...

Re: The biggest chambered in a Savage?
You wouldn't have any pictures of said rumors or maybe some ballistics info for one of these rumored weapons?
Re: The biggest chambered in a Savage?
How about a .408 Chey Tac on a savage large shank action. Would it deal with the recoil or the pressure?
Re: The biggest chambered in a Savage?
I finished this 375 RUM last not with the lastest muscle brake quick detach design.

I doubt it.
I remember SSS stating that even a 338 lapua causes problems with the savage action eventually.
Rum is probably about as big as you can go.
