Nikon Monarch ATB 10x42. Look at Camera land. I bought a pair of these a few years ago for about 100 less than Cabelas price for the same thing. I like them and everyone of my friends that looks through them pretty much say; WOW! How much?
There's some good info here: http://24hourcampfire.com/binoculars.html
Best advice I ever got regarding optics: Buy the best glass you can afford.
I started with inexpensive Tasco, Simmons, Bushnell, etc., and struggled for years. I've progressed to Zeiss and Leica and couldn't be happier. Wish I could have made the switch sooner. Fact is, if I had known just how dramatic the difference is, I probably would have sacrificed a gun or two to finance the better optics.
Good luck.
don't forget the vortex line GREAT glass and warranty
and I agree buy good one time or buy twice, you get what you pay for but you don't have to pay for a name.
Nikon ATBs or Vortex is good advice. I use a pair of Leica's that I use but the Nikons are not that far behind and a great buy. I would avoid the cheaper Leupolds, they are iffy at best and just plain poor in most cases.
Until you look through these binos (or scope), you will not believe me.....

I have purchased three of these sets over the past year. I have been traded, bartered, and stolen out of these binos and scopes. I have one pair of the binos left.....I kid you not.
I have a set of Bruntons that I like quite a bit.
Another vote for Vortex. I have the Razor 8X42 and just love them.

Best set I have are zen-rays (ED's ?). Also very happy with the few pairs of vortex's we have.
Thanks guys!! what do you think of these...http://www.cameralandny.com/optics/v...exvulture10x50
They are on sale and look to be a good deal!
Vortex Razors.....but they ain't $200.......
The 8x42 Vortex Viper's are excellent as well, but still quite a bit more than $200.Quote:
