Automatic Case Prep Tools

Load for three calibers, .221fb/.223/.243 and have the tools and dies/supplies. Just about to decide if I added a second single stage press (one for sizing and one for bullet seating), and an automatic debur/champher station, I can load about as fast as a turrent press. At least as fast as I need to load 250 rounds.

What are some automatic spinning tool holders? Perhaps a table top, don't want to devote my drill press or use a hand drill . I'm buying Lake City once fired brass for the .221fb/.223, it comes annealed and cleaned, the only defect is about 3 in a 100 need the the primer pocket re-shaped.

My guess is the brass is coming through semi-auto actions and sometimes been slightly deformed, can see the extractor marks on some of the cases. For the quality and price, I'm not complaining about a little prep work.

Personally have just purchased this Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Case Prep and Trim Center haven't used it yet and looking forward to

I just got done using my RCBS case mate to prep my 260 rem brass.
I run a neck brush and a inside(VLD) and outside chamfer cutters on it.

Works well

The Lyman looks good too.

Thoughts on the Lyman and Redding turret presses? I am going to look at an old Lee this afternoon, but the guy wants almost new prices. A turret would be quicker for 4 cartridges I load for. Lyman extra turrets are cheaper than Reddings. Of course...buy once applies.

Id go with the redding press. As far as the prep station I bought the lyman over the rcbs because it comes with the tools...love the case prep express its one of the best investments ive made, cuts load time down a lot.

Lyman has a handy cleaning platform for the tool holders, brush the chips away.

Yeah its a nice unit. The only thing I found was the primer pocket uniformer tool is not tool steel and after a 100 cases it was pretty dull so I replaced it with an rcbs uniformer.

You want carbide cutting blades, they will last longer then hardened steel.

I've got all the rcbs tools if they will fit the station.

I have a Hornady and a RCBS prep station. I had the RCBS and then got a good deal on the Hornady when a customer at local GS ordered it and then decided not to take it. I like both of them but the RCBS dosen't trim them, and the Hornady dose it all.

The hornady trims cases? Im going to have to look into this because that would really cut time...does it trim accurately?

Yes longrange, it takes a little practice to get used to setting it up and putting the same pressure on the handle every time. This is the bench mounted one not the smaller one. They are a little pricey but if you look you can find them on sale. Before this I used a Lyman trimmer I had bought the power converter for but it was not as accurate.
