Helpfull Hints for Scope Base Mounting

Just got mys Mark II BSEV 22lr. I have yet to go with any original manufacturer's base.

I have had great success with EGW.

Hints:

I always clean the interface area of the base that goes to the barrel with a solvent (the mounting area of the barrel too!).

I always use Loctite Blue 242 for the mounting screws.

I always put a dab between the each of the (2) 2 screw hole patterns and just barely tighten down the base.

Wipe seepage with paper towel.

Wait a couple of hours if not over night, then finish tightening the base/screws.

Seems to make a compression pad for any gaps.

Never had an issue with tack driving!
