any reason not to?
My last unassigned action is my first buy that I still have not done anything with. I bought it as a 110 7mm RUM, and have since sold the barrel and stock. My plan all along was for this action to be my ultimate f class gun, and I have been doing a lot of reading and listening on here and at ranges to see what would be the best caliber. I still dont know which caliber to build, but have it down to 3- 7 WSSM, 7mm SAUM, or a straight .284. Is there any reason that any of these 3 calibers would not work on this action? I dont totally understand the length dynamics yet, but the 2 mag calibers are shorter than the original RUM, whereas the .284 would require a boltface change.

I'd go .284, a great long range cartridges.....do the bolt change.

+1 vote for the straight .284

284, and the std 473 bolt face works for that, too.
Of course, I'm sure some enterprising preson on the board would love to talk you out of the action if you get tired.
