m12 fvss question
Hello guys,
I have a 12fvss 223 rifle, I love to shoot very accurate. But I'm confused on one part, I'm looking at replacing the stock with either a choate or the b&c Medalist tactical, what I don't understand is they list 2 different sizes, I measured mine and it seemed to come out some where between what they list 4 1/4 and 4 3/8, mine is what I would consider a stagger feed as the rounds do not set directly on top of each other. the more I look at this the more confused I get, I've had the rifle for about 5 years now so its not the accustock model. any ideas??

Re: m12 fvss question
I believe the bolt spacings for 2nd and 3rd gen Savage SA are 4.275" (staggered feed) and 4.4" (center feed). If your gun is 5 years old and measures between 4.25 and 4.375 you'd be in the staggered feed category (also supported by the fact that the bullets don't lie on top of each other as you stated).

Re: m12 fvss question
Yours would be a Gen2 SA (2nd Gen. Short: 4.275" (1998 - 2005)). I don't know where you are looking for your stock, but Midway is using the proper measurement for a short action....
