Mod 99 barrel band carbine

I have a 99 bbc in 300 sav. Is it true that the barrel band in 300 was only made in 1940?

Looks like 1940 was the only year they produced the barrel band carbine with a 22" barrel, in .300 Sav. Everything before was a 20" barrel. I assume production stopped for WWII.
