Flcp-k .223 to .22-250 conversion
What would this take?
Can the barrel be re chambered to the 22 250 ? Will the bolt face and magazine be the same ? I really like my 308 flcpk and want a 22 250 also. Since the 12 flv would cost almost as much and i get no accu stock, no dbm, no brake I was thinking this may be a more cost effective route and get what I want.
Re: Flcp-k .223 to .22-250 conversion
From my readings around here, yes you can ream out the chamber for the .22-250; but you will need a new bolt face.
I believe the .22-250 uses the same .473 bolt face as the .308.
That said, I'm sure someone with more knowledge and experience will be along shortly to clarify all the necessary points.
Good luck.
Re: Flcp-k .223 to .22-250 conversion
Ok that covered a bunch that I have been thinking about. I already have the flcpk on 308, I was just wanting a .22 Cal gun for shorter ranges and a bit cheaper to shoot. I may just get a .223 flcpk and shoot it and not worry about conversions. Since the flcpk has the dbm, fluted barrel, brake, accustock already. Hmm back to saving up again!! Hopefully by the time I get it things will have calmed back down and I will be able to get some .223 brass.
