remove front sight ramp 66 savage 110?

so refinishing my old 66 savage 110, trying to figure out how to remove front ramp, if i can, being told by others it may be soldered on. i see what may be a roll pin, but others say they dont think so, or know what thats for. is kinda odd how its set through, would mean something has to be verticle in thee fr pin to hold to and nothing holding front end down? makes me think it is soldered. dont have punch set so wanted to ask before i got one to try and bash that out, dont want t ruin it for nothing if it doesnt remove. i have 2 teeny pits left to remove right by it or it could say on realy if it has to.
sorry, just realized i dont ave enough posts yet to show pic of what im talking about. makes it kinda hard...lol
this pin goes in from the side, toward rear of the ramp, horizontaly, same way the top sight portion would pop off. others with same rifle dont see that on theirs.
