Bottom metals for boyds stock

I have a savage model 11 trophy hunter with bottom bolt release, I want to replace the stock with a boyds prairie hunter, some say I don't need metals bottoms with the new style trophy hunter stock others say I do. has anyone recently replaced their trophy hunter with a boyds stock and did you HAVE to get the bottom metals and what was the total price for them i dont want to pay as much for the bottom metals as i would for the stock the only reason I'm want to replace the stock is for looks the gun with factory Tupperware stock with factory ammo 3 shots 100 yards all touching
