10BA Torque Specs
After doing a search here it seems 35 inch pounds is the spec for the 2 bedding screws on a 10 BA, just like the other Savage models. With the aluminum chassis, I figured it would be more. Has anyone with a 10BA gone higher than the 35 inch pounds and found it helps shrink groups?
Thanks

I torque to about 60 front and 35ish rear. You can tune rear torque to improve accuracy I have been told. My testing showed 35 works pretty well. Aluminuim chassis has no issue at 60 inch pounds (using Fat Max as torque wrench). The reak takes a extended hex socket to use a torque wrench on (at least that is what I had to do).

PS - if you rifle is new, use a torque wrench to loosen, it will give you a rough factory setting. On at least one of my stealths, the rear was much less torque.

My 110 ba chasis is torqued to 65 in lbs. So are my Mcree chasis, choate stocks and HS stocks

40 to 45 in/lbs Front
40 to 45 in/lbs Rear
Always works for me.
I've tested a few rifles all of them preferred 40 to 45 in/lbs.
I think the reason why other Manufacturers recommend 60 in/lbs is because anything less would loosen over time. My Savages never come loose at 40 in/lbs, and 45 in/lbs for the magnums for extra insurance.

Thanks for your responses. So far 35 in/lbs is working but I will try and increase the torque.

The chassis is made by MDT. MDT says on their website that 65 is the correct torque for their metal chassis. I called Savage twice and emailed them once. Got a different number each time. I went with the MDT spec of 65 inch pounds.
