Not ignoring you guys...
Some of you may have noticed I haven't been posting much in the last week. This will continue well on into December. Whether you consider that a good or bad thing, I figured I should explain. I'm currently putting myself through the local police academy, and it's taking up far more time than I would have imagined.
I've been a dispatcher for many years, and I got into that business as a "foot in the door" to become a police officer. I love my job, but I've come to the realization that there's nowhere for me to go in Dispatch. I joke that the only way to get promoted in Dispatch is to leave Dispatch, become an officer, get promoted to sergeant, and then be assigned to supervise Dispatch!
While that "joke" is an accurate reflection of reality, I've also come to respect and appreciate the job officers do far more than I could have in 2003 when I started my time at the department. It's exciting and terrifying here at the beginning.

Good luck it takes a special kind of dedication, to pursue in the field of law enforcement especially nowadays.

PS: I would be in the news every night, since I would not put up with half the Krap that goes on on a daily basis, and I am sure every knows what I mean.
