Thanks a lot! It was very easy, took about 5 minutes. It was originally a black stock, I hung it up on a coat hanger and spayed some 12$ tan alumahyde epoxy paint on it, and then some 5$ black krylon Webbing while it was still wet then a very light dusting of coyote alumahyde to darken it up. Alumahyde is apparently impervious to solvents as well
I may do an OD green base coat on the next with grey webbing
I have a B&C Duramaxx that came factory in an OD green with black webbing that looks nice, the webbing is subtle but adds a nice something. I had wondered about a green with a grey web and then a little black web over that.
I have been thinking of a scheme similar to yours picture above, but a little darker tan for my newest coyote rifle build.
I did an OD green with grey web on a water bottle today and it did not look good, I did an OD green with black web and a dust of tan on a Tupperware stock I had laying around too, and it looked great, I sent it to your email

This is it done, Im thinking about painting the action and barrel a slight darker color what do you think?
Personally I like the metal to retain its original styles of finish respectively, but that's just me. On my newest coyote rifle build I may go ahead and do it all in a color, but I like keeping the metal the way it is because I am always switching barrels onto different actions to be able to utilize stocks the best for the current usage the rifle sees and painted metal would complicate that for me. It also sells easier should I ever want to part with a barrel or action.
They do look good painted and should conceal nicely if hunting critters with sharp little eyes.
Looks good luke.nice job! I like the idea of painting a contrasting color on the action/barrel as you said. But.....as boots said, if ever you consider selling It would probably affect the sale-ability. Mine is gonna be used as a SHTF scenario type of weapon, so im gonna paint it. Black is not a shade found in nature 'cept shadows, and a barrel/action/scope would stand out like a sore thumb.

Yes. Get a can @ your local hdwre store, and read label. Metal, plastics, wood......there some pics of some here in the pic section.
You have to get the Aluma-Hyde II from Brownells or a LGS that my carry it.

Paint - Glue - Thinner.
25% 75% 1/4 tsp Very fine webbing
50% 50% 1/4 tsp Medium web
75% 25% 1/4 tsp Heavy thick narrow pattern.

One thing about this store, all the spray paints are 'locked up'. If you go to Wally World, it's obvious why.
People 'try' the paint all over the shelves, etc. Darn rednecks!

web spray also works great over DuraCoat practice spraying on cardboard before you spray your stock to get the feel of how the web lays down

Can anyone attest to how well it holds up? I just finished rattle-canning this guy O.D. and I'm already thinking it would look real nice with some of that black webbing over it... I've always liked the weatherby stocks with that look

Does it need a clear coat layer over it for added durability?
The ones I've done have held up well.
That weatherby stock looks exactly like a 22 I did in OF green and krylon webbing. I put a few coats of satin clear on mine.
