whats been the lead time lately for cbi barrels? im 16 weeks in now.
Criterion has been buried along with almost all other firearms companies that are making a decent product. I will be getting in a huge shipment of barrels for customer orders and inventory later this month. We will be turning these around as fast as they arrive. Brenda will be contacting you with an update when your order ships.
I am sure everybody can see the absolute avalanche of business stores and suppliers are going through. If you don't see this, try buying 223 anything or better yet primers.

Thanks Jim,I'm not upset about it i was just curious how long its been taking.I totally understand that everybody is behind its crazy.hopefully it will calm down soon.
It does not help that Criterion lost almost 4 weeks of production time with their move to the new facility. We are currently quoting 14 weeks and that does seem very close to correct as soon as we get the backlog shipped later this month.

I just counted and I'm at 19 weeks
I think I am at about 18 weeks.
I'm just waiting for the call. Around 15 weeks for me
3 weeks for me, oh well, will just settle in and wait.
got the call today!! hope you all as lucky!!!.thanks Jim and Brenda!!
You did, that's awesome. Waiting for the phone to ring.... :eagerness:
You all need patience. I ordered my CBI in December. I just have to let it ride until I get the call its on the way.
I have been collecting reloading components for the 20x45 in the meantime..
My deer hunting season starts in 2 1/2 months. I know it will be ready, just hate to rush things.
I'm at 13 weeks on my rem/age barrel. Looking to get one for my savage as well but want to make sure this one shoots first.
Got the call yesterday. Mine should arrive Wednesday! The bad new is I have to call Jim on Monday and order another barrel for another project. The wait will start all over again.
I expected to wait, but it's now been almost 23 weeks. Getting anxious!
I just got the call last night. I am excited as this is my first Savage build.
I just checked and I am at 15 weeks and counting. Called Jim and he said Criterion is swamped but trying to catch up.
Everything for the build sits in the corner waiting for the action and barrel,Shehane stock, T36, Kelby rings.
I'll try to remember to post start to finish pics when it all arrives.
Any updates from anyone? I'm coming up on 17 and starting to itch lol... Poor lonely action...
I ordered mine on the 3rd week of January, still no call. I just gave up, and figure they will call me. I want the barrel before deer season, which is coming up soon.
trailrider I do understand. I ordered mine back in December, I wanted to shoot in the FTR competitions here, but doesn't look like I'll get too this year. Maybe next year.
I can completely relate. Ordered mine towards the end of December still waiting on the call too. Hopefully, it will be soon!
I wonder why the discrepancy in wait times. Looks like a lot are around the 15-16 week area but some of you have been waiting since December. Ordered reamer or something?
Criterion had a 4 week period of lost production time during the move to their new facility in December, 2012. If you can remember what was happening about that time, the shooting world went crazy with demand for all products. The resulting back logs this created sent shock waves through every company even remotely related to firearms. Order back logs went from 8 to 12 weeks to waaaay out there. overnight. The AR barrel business that CBI does went right off the chart. Existing orders were tripled and raised from there.
We received a lot of CBI Barrels in here last month (18 + cases). I just spoke with them this morning and we will be getting all remaining Dec. and Jan. barrel orders except the 20 cal. in here by month end. We will be cleaning, inspecting and repackaging your barrels as fast as we can when they show up. Brenda will be calling each of you when your order ships.
It is never good to have to wait extra long times for anybodies product. The only companies that I know of during this recent round of panic buying that have product available are those that had real long term inventories on the shelf or those not offering a true quality product (they weren't that busy to start with). Criterion is currently working unlimited overtime on their production floor. They have been at this ramped up level since arriving in their new facility. The overwhelming demand for the AR products is winding back to a normal level. Criterion is hopeful of establishing a 12 week lead time as soon as they get all order lead times back in line.

That is encouraging. I just hope the quality doesn't drop with all the OT and rush to get things out the door.
Well I got the call today at work that my 260 barrel shipped today. Awesome, should have it ready for deer season. Hope others got a call as well.
I got the call today as well for my rem/age 6.5CM barrel. Excited to say the least.
Got the call today. 25 weeks on the dot. Hope it's shorter next time!
Brown man brought me something nice today🙊. Looks like I'm gonna have a fun weekend

mine came today
I was told 16-18 weeks -last of July 1st of August
so it came quite a bit earlier
gear grinder is correct
it came in about 12 weeks
instead of the 16-18 Jim stated when it was ordered
I fire formed some brass -last night after work
1st ten shot group under an inch (at 50 yards)-sighting in-
it looks like it has a lot of potential
I left work today and found two voicemails on my phone. One from Jim telling me my 284 Win barrel ordered just before Christmas was on the way. The other from Holland telling me the Reloader 17 and H4831 I need to power the 284 Win was on its way. This got me thinking that I need to leave work more often.
More than 19 weeks for me. I guess it'll be a winter project now.
Mine is now at 7 months.
and here i was wanting to order one, holy cow!
i wonder if theyve caught back up and on track for 12-14weeks?
No they haven't. I am now at 21 weeks supposed to be 10 -12.
I spoke with Criterion just yesterday. I have a large quantity of barrels shipping to NSS very soon. We will be processing and shipping these barrels as soon as they arrive. Brenda will be calling everyone as soon as their order ships.

Got the call last night. 23 weeks to the day, all should be here on Aug. 7th. With any luck it will be together for my Aug. 17th match, I still need to fit and finish the stock then find a load, so now the fun starts.
Thanks Jim.
I didnt keep close track because I was afraid I would drive myself crazy but I made a mental note of August or first of September and it came the first of August so I would say they are a little ahead of the stated lead time.
I finally got the call that mine will be here on Monday after 31.5 weeks. I'm sure it will be worth the wait...
If I don't get a call by Friday I am thinking of selling all the parts and the new 111 300 mag donor rifle and getting a Rem 700 5R in 300 winmag. Shooting time is running out for me, my travel schedule ramps up next month through March next year.
I must hold a record at 36 weeks and still waiting... and for a simple .308 barrel at that! I've long since given up on the build and sold the action it was going to go on. I just need to get the barrel so I can sell it and recoup some of the money...
Why not call the vendor and cancell for a refund. Their fault not yours shouldn't be a problem.
I've not pushed it since he normally stocks 26" barrels and this is a 24", thus making it a "special order." Typically special orders are non refundable, and in the times I've explained the situation to them, a refund has never been offered. I ordered it before the price increase, so hopefully it comes in just when someone is all fired up to build a 24" 308 and I can recoup most of the cost. fingers crossed.
Yeayyy....my 20x45 bbl is to be here Thursday after ordering it last Dec.
