Heavy barrels in my experience will maintain accuracy longer during a shooting session... Example and axis barrel and a heavy barrel being shot side by side... The axis moa will start suffering quicker because is light, heads up and there is more expansion! They were not meant to be shot 50 times in a row with no cool down! I have a stock 11-111 in 30-06 and its lighter barrel... Not as light as axis but light... I shoot sub moa at 100 ... 1 moa at 200 and i shoot a 550 yard gong with no issues! Its the furthest target my range has ...If i am shooting for a long time i make sure i run a snake through it and let it cool down while i shoot something else... That way i stay consistent!
