As far as the econo rifles go the axis has MANY more aftermarket parts and they are so accurate it's worth building on. Ruger Americans are good and come with the accu trigger as well but I don't think anyone is making stocks for them....you can also get an axis with a threaded barrel to add a muzzle brake
-
Yes I seen that. But the Axis II doesn't come in a a threaded barrel right now. Iv always had savage rifles and couldn't see getting anything else. Though I did have a Browning A-Bolt in 308 and it was really nice!!
-
Should get my new stock for my .308 Monday. I will post some pics
-
Nice I have no idea when mine will ship :(
-
Where did you order it from?
-
-
Oh..your stock. Did you do any kind of custom order?
-
-
It's only been a week and a half since the date of order
-
My first stock I ordered on Jan 22nd and still don't have it but it's because I added the high gloss finish and they were having trouble during the curing process with it so they ended up having to send me a regular satin finish. The second one I ordered Feb 15th and got it a couple of days ago....so like three weeks
-
Ya I think their site said they were back up 4 weeks now
-
I was expecting up to six weeks so I was happy with three
-
That's what it has said for a while but it's not taking that long
-
Oh got ya. Well I'm in no big hurry so I don't mind lol plus I love boyds stocks I have several of them
-
My first one was done at three weeks as well but the finish was messed up or I would have got it
-
Hmm I never had a problem with the finish. I had no Idea you could get a high gloss finish. What does it look like?
-
Yeah I am going prairie dog hunting this fall and just bought another .223 New England with a bull barrel and I'm going to get a thumb hole stock for it as well
-
I don't know, I have never seen one but I'm kinda glad it ended up this way. I was having second thoughts about a gloss stock with a matte finish barrel
-
Oh nice. I have thought about a single shot but I'm in love with lever actions lol I like a bolt action for stuff like varmints, lever for deer and other big game
-
The standard finish is perfect
-
Ya and with high gloss you can see every little Chip, scratch and piece if dirt and dust
-
Yeah I have an old glen field 30-30 that has been the family deer rifle for years. I just redone all of the wood and re blued everything. Looks like new and it is an early 80's model
-
Very nice!! I have all marlins. I have a 336 30-30, Stainless 1895 in 45-70 government, 795 and a bunch of others
-
I would like to get the 45-70. Beautiful gun
-
It's my favorite gun in my entire collection. It will never leave the family lol I will haunt whoever sells it. Lol
