bolthead conversion

I want to convert my 12LRPV (.223 Rem) to a 6.5x47L. If I get the bolthead and baffle from SSS is this something I can replace myself, or does that require a gunsmith to install properly?

All you need is a 1/4" allen wrench to disassemble the bolt. Remove the bolt assembly screw and slide the handle and rear baffle off. Slide the cocking sleeve to the rear and remove the cocking piece pin. The firing pin assembly will come out the back, Once that is out, use it to push the crosspin out and remove the bolt head. Re-assemble in reverse order. Once you study it a little, it's a 2 minute job, tops.

If it's a right ejection action, be sure you install the bolt head with the extractor on the same side as the bolt handle. The bolt can be reassembled with the extractor on the wrong side.
