Does anyone know the torque spec for the bolt screw?
Hi guys, I took the bolt apart from my f-class to clean it and add a thrush bearing kit. The screw that holds the bolt together was really tight but had no thread locker on it. So, I'd like to know if there's a torque spec for reassembling or just wing it?
Thanks
Pablo

Wing it. I put mine on as tight as I can get it. It still isn't as tight as the Savage gorilla gets them.

Pabs
Tighten the screw until the threads start to smoke and then give it two more full turns. ;D
(if you do it this way remember to check your headspace when your done) ::)

Lol... I'll make sure to check the head space after following your detailed instructions bidedp51! ;D

My fathers father was a "horse doctor" who started a garage when the Model T
came out and his "perfectly tight" technique was "Tighten it until it twists off
and back it up a quarter turn". ::)

Just a little bit of trivia about torquing. A dry thread has a different (read higher ft/lbs) torque spec than a lubricated one.
