I`m looking at the 110 tactical in prc and the 110 tactical desert in prc.
On Savage websight these look to be the same gun, down to the identical msrp. I can only see two differences. [1] the Tactical offers two .308 chamber/barrel length combos that the Tactical desert lacks; [2] the desert model has a different paint job and a $20 lower msrp ($869 vs $889).
I feel like I must be missing something. Thanks for any enlightenment! :p
That is all it takes to give it it's own name and model number.
You aren’t missing anything. It’s the same.
Just a casual search of the web and it looks like the Tactical can be had cheaper than the Desert Tactical. Two examples.

The only difference between the two other than stock color is the Tactical has a fluted barrel and Tactical Desert does not.
