Does a Savage Model 1912 use the same extractor as a pump-action 1903?

I'm looking to avoid making an extractor from scratch, and have located extractors for 1903 pump-action rifles. I know some of the parts interchange, but don't know if the extractors are the same. The bolt assembly I have has the end of the extractor broken off, and it will be a lot more work making one without something to copy. I'm hoping to hear from someone who has worked on these rifles who will tell me the extractors interchange between the 1912 and the 1903. Also, I need a replacement barrel to avoid having to go the liner route. Thanks.

The extractors are the same, there was an 'across the board' change to the extractors sometime after 1914 but I don't know if the 1912's ever got the upgrade. The early extractors were very thin mounted in a slot in the top of the bolt and later ones were much heavier and mounted in a slot on the right side. The extractor for a 1912 is only needed to pull unfired rounds and help a little to keep the case in line for feeding and ejection since the fired case extracts itself while pushing the bolt back, so if you're going to make one it doesn't need to be as strong as those used on a pump.

Finding a good original barrel might be a problem. The barrel from a 1909 should screw right in and everything should fit to give you another option, but they are probably harder to find than one for a 1912. 1903 barrels should also screw in, but they are all octagon and your forearm would not fit.
