I had the same problem on a Savage Model 11. I couldn't find my post about it but the rear bolt baffle seemed to be a different design than what was on my older Savage 10FLP. My 10FLP rear bolt baffle has a visible dual ball bearing arrangement and the Model 11 bearing were of a newer design and staked in. The bolt baffle on my Model 11 was so loose it would just fall off. I ended up calling the Savage Warranty Dept and they sent me a replacement with the visible dual bearings - haven't had a problem since. I hope this helps.
