would commercial low recoil ammo cases expand less than full powered ammo? thank you
It seem to me that even a low recoil powder are still going to generate thousands of pounds of pressure and the brass is soft so it'd be moot.
One of my Minions (granddaughters) is about as big as a Big Mac combo, and last year, she used my home-brewed "managed recoil" rounds, a 120 gr. BTSP at about 2500 fps, in a 7mm-08. (The rest of us use 140 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips at nearly 2800 fps.) Couldn't tell any difference in her brass and the rest of ours when reloading it. And they all have to be F/L resized, since they're going into several different rifles.
Reduced loads will expand the case less. When I fire form My brass, I use a "scope eye" charge, and the cases come out with the chamber tooling marks on them ;-))
NOT FOR THE NOVICE RELOADER !
please explain scope eye
Also know as Denoidis
That scope eye reminded me of a friend who fired a 270 for the first time. He was used to shooting 22 rifles and when his uncle gave him the 270 to shoot he put the stock under his armpit and eye right up on the scope I tried to tell him whoa hold your fire!
I was too late. He's got a gash in his eyebrow and a headache for 4 days.
^ I wonder if that ever happened to our "Deano" ??? ^
