PTG bolt heads are made for the .145" dia. firing pin. Using the .098" dia. firing pin can cause ignition & accuracy problems.
Do you have calipers mikgarus?
I got one to help a cratered primer issue.

That part has been discontinued.
What diameter did the older actions use? IE Flat backs
I changed a model 12 LRPV from the factory 378 to a PT&G 473 when I rebarreled to 6BR. I would not expect any change in performance due to the "floating" bolt head design.
