2.260" OAL is what most types of AR magazines will allow.
Thanks Tx I am loading some 75 gr. Bergers for my Sons new AR and did not have it here. I loaded some at 2.260 as that is what the Berger book calls for, but half of the bullet is inside of the case. That really cuts into powder volume.
ASC mags allow for a bit longer load. i think about 2.300-2.310. i use these for my Grendel and have loaded them out to 2.295 oal and there's still approx .020 left. this varies slightly between the mags.
