How many times can you screw a barrel on and off a Savage action before you wear out the threads on the action ?

Thousands. With the low torque of the barrel nut, I'd be surprised if you could ever cause any sort of noticeable wear.

And when it does finally wear out, all you have to do is turn that action into a large shank, Brilliant I say Brilliant.

I chance a little anti-seize on mine and have contemplated smearing some on the wallet as well ........ 'cause I think when it's all said and done it's going to wear out ahead of my actions.
