110 cl seriesw j serial number

I have obtained an older savage left handed 110 cl rifle, series J, in 243.
it is in remarkable condition, but I cannot find out when it was made.

it s serial number is B299427. there is a 6 with a circle around it on the left side
of he barrel, just forward of the barrel nut.

can anyone tell me when it was made ?

Can't give you an exact date, but can tell you it falls in the 1972-1974 range with the "B" prefix

Your getting good Jim, was made in 1973.
