She's 13yrs!! Here in British Columbia, Canada, kids age 10-13 can hunt on a Parent/guardians hunting licience, This Bear and the WT Doe she got last year, I just punch my tag for her, and very happy to do so!! ;D Next year when she is 14 she will have to do her hunter education and get her own licience and tags!! Quite a few of her friends think its awesome, also most of her friends hunt too!!

Re: Ashley's First Bruin!!!
This is awesome! Congratulations are in order to both of you. My daughter started shooting with my wife and I when she was 6. She shoots rifles and pistols, and also handloads with me. She is 9 now and shot her first deer this year. I am right with you on the 243 Win. Mine uses a Model 110 and we use 95 gr Noslers BTs at 2800 fps. It is a mid range load that does very well. Once again, congratulations. Let us know of your families future successes and when your youngest gets started.
Re: Ashley's First Bruin!!!
That's what it's all about, man!
Good on you for taking your family out to experience hunting and the outdoors. The memories will be cherished forever.
Please pass on congratulations to the lass for me, and let her know that most kids her age have never even seen a bear here in Colorado.
That is really something to be proud of. I hope it's at the taxidermy studio now.............
