Anybody done a .300 blackout and figured out how to make it eject those short little cases on a model 10 action?
Lengthened the ejector protrusion but still not keeping it on the extractor claw quite long enough to clear the port.

Are you using standard AAC shells or recut 556? How new is the 300?
Have tried both new and cut down. pushed case length as far as chamber would handle with no success there either.
Action is brand new.
Are you using the 223 extractor by chance? If you have a standard extractor, it will release early even with standard 223 cartridges. The Savage part number for the 223 extractor is 102278.
It is the .223 extractor, actually was a brand new center feed .223.
Ended up making a longer ejector plunger and has resolved the ejection problem, but in turn the last round out of the magazine can be a little stubborn to feed now. (Hangs under the plunger sometimes).
I built one on an Axis so I'm not sure how much it will help you but I did three things that made it reliable. I first increased the travel of the ejector. I then replaced the detent ball under extractor which made a difference. The best thing I did though was ordering a modified extractor and ejector from sharp shooter supply. It I'd hard to place an order with them but the parts made my rifle 100% reliable so far so it was worth it.
