Has anyone modified a 223 Centerfeed to accept longer than 2.250 ammo. I looked at a dealers today and it appears that the spacer is plastic. I want to be able to use rifle as a repeater with 223 OAL of around 2.45". Any ideas if this is possible?

You should be able to load at a length of 2.440" the way it is.
