the above is correct, and easiest way to determine. Take the 308 barrel off and screw a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel on SET HEADSPACE, and your ready to go after getting your ammo ready. Jut ask for comments here as far as what's everyone's favorite load. The 308 has a .473 bolt head, we call it the 308 family. A 6br is a blast to shoot, accurate, and works well out to 1,000 yards, just a point. There are many choices for this bolt head.
