Anyone ever inlet a factory non DBM stock for DBM?

I have a factory stock, am 11 Hog Hunter SA that is not inlet for factory DBM...it has the inlet'ing outline molded into the stock for LA and SA from the factory...I am assuming this is a guide for the factory guys to pop it into a machine and inlet...have not seen an OD inleted stock fmro the factory...has anyone done so?

I do not have a mill but am pretty handy with a drill press and dremel. Looks like something I could pound out pretty quickly...

Also if anyone has a pic of a stock, a close up to show some detail of what it looks like from the factory that might help...

Good question. I have a friend who wants to change his center feed 223 over to a DBM 308 so I'll be watching this thread to learn too.

I just ordered bottom metal and a 5 round mag. from Accurate-Mag. They have a pretty good selection. I've spoken to alot of people while run nin g everything down. I can't be absolutely certain but I think it was them that said that they supply to "Savage" and some to "PTG". I don't know if it's exactly the same as a consumer gets or not. My complete order including shipping was approximately $225, he didn't know what the shipping was exactly. I looked at CDI but they didn't have what I needed. What they had looked good. If you don't find it at CDI or PTG(?) you might try them. Hope you get what you need, Paul :nod:

A plastic stock may be kind of hard with a dremel. Plastic may melt as it is cut. But, here is Boyd's stock I did with a mill bit on a dremel.

Sharp Shooter Supply machined a Boyds blind mag stock for factory DBM for me a couple of years ago.

I got my bottom metal from Accurate-Mag. If I ran into problems that I'm not set-up to handle I wonder if they would install a competitors pieces and how expensive it would be? I have a Boyd's laminated heavy varmint thumbhole stock and I'm just curious incase I screw this stock up, I wouldn't want to screw up a second one. Thanks, Paul
