Getting a new boyds laminated stock for my model 14,should I pillar bed it ?
Yes.
Absolutely. The plastic escutcheon in front action screw hole will gradually continue to collapse under even minor tightening. My varmint thumb hole didn't really fit the best, took a lot of work to get both screws started and tightened down. Love the stock though and couldn't be happier now that it has aluminum pillars and a bed of Devcon in it.
What happened to the factory stock?
Still have the factory stock just like laminated better for my hunting gun.
Guys come on, give the moderators a break already.
For now I am going to keep the old stock.
I would, too. :)
Tsk,tsk,tsk.....
