please help with where to find info about a '99

Got this savage 99 in 300 savage, and it has a .410 barrel with it. beautiful furniture, maybe 98% condition. Looks to never have been fired. serial 237xxx. Anybody know where I can get info on it? date of mfg, is it a special run? approx value, that sort of thing.

Really nice gun but unfortunately it's been cut for the recoil pad which more or less means that the 410 barrel is worth more than the gun now. The 410 barrels are pretty rare to find, did this gun come with a case with a Savage label on it?
