Just picked up a Savage 10 Predator in .243.... wondering if anyone is shooting the 105 Amax in a factory tube... or what other LR bullets you Savages are shooting?
Cool board by the way... look forward to contributing.

If I recall, the Predator has a 1:12 twist rate. If I am correct, that would allow you to shoot the light weight 6mm bullets, and not be anywhere near fast enough twist to shoot the heavier bullets like the 105's.
80 grain and smaller to work in that twist is my guess.
it comes with 1-9 twist should shoot 95gn. smk, berger vld 95's, i have one
Ive only shot 58g Vmax out of mine so far and they shoot good.
It's a 1/9.25" twist pipe.... I'm thinking it's a maybe on the 105 Amax. Bought a box of 105s and some 55 grain Nosler Varmegeddon. Hopefully we can go two loads for coyotes, a 55@4k for general purpose critter disassembly... and a 105@2950 for LR work.
I hope the 105's work for you. I have a 1:9.25 on a Remington that I will be trying them out in. Love the AMAX. They are great in my 1:8 CBI.
I have a 9 twist and all I have shot is 95gr SST's (Superformance ammo from Hornady). But the group size has not been the tiniest and I have not yet got to the bottom of it. I did get some Bergers to try, since I have the superformance powder for the 243. (8lbs worth)
Mine is a 12 though with a 26" barrel.
Not a savage, but I had a 700VLS with a 1 in 9 1/8 that shot 105's absolutely superb. My load was not fast but was very accurate. Could only get about 2750fps out of it with 40gr of H4350.
