New to this Forum
But not to firearms retired Army w/ 42yrs service have owned several Savage rifles in last 60 years and currently have 2-110's both in 270 an a Rem 700 in 270 so i'm thinking about a barrel swap on one of the 110's to 7x57 a caliber that was my first deer rifle when i was a kid i have all tools for the swap and all reloading equipment i want to shoot 140 to 175 grain bullets so my Q's to experts on this forum is 1/8 or 1/9.5 twist

Welcome.
Either twist is fine. The 1:9.5 will net a bit more velocity. The 1:8 will stabilize the heaviest you can go. Maybe look to an 1:8.5 or 1:9 instead, as those are closer margin and probably a better option for the widest spread of bullet weights. But hey, I use a 1:7.5 with .264” bullets, so what do I know? LOL!
