Safety not working!
I have a problem with my Savage 110. With the safety all the way to the rear, the bolt won't open. However, if the bolt is already cocked, it will fire.
If I slide the safety just a hair forward, it feels like there is supposed to be another position. However, at the position, the bolt cocks and the gun fires.
With the safety all the way forward, the bolt cocks and the gun fires.
In other words, the safety doesn't work!
Is this something I can fix myself, or should it go to a professional?
Where do I find the info on how it is supposed to be working?

Re: Safety not working!
with the safety on, turn in the screw on the back of the trigger until it contact the safety. you want it tight enough to prevent the trigger from moving but not cause to much friction on the safety sliding.

Re: Safety not working!
Thanks! That was, indeed, the problem. The screw was backed out at least an eighth of an inch from where it needed to be. The safety is now working correctly.
However, I now have a new question based on the instructions. I have another screw that is not shown in the pictures, or mentioned in the instructions. I've marked the location in red in the picture below.

Any idea what this screw is for?

Re: Safety not working!
That screw was used on the older triggers to secure the trigger hinge pin, they now use a "C" clip.
