Ok guys looking for some input on bedding around the barrel nut.
Don't do it - going to be hard to get the "teeth" back in right and if you ever change barrels it will surely be wrong.
Just did this last week!
I put modeling clay in the groves and in front of the lock nut to stop bedding compound from flowing into the cavities!
then when it dried after a few days i took a dremel and sanded down the bedding materiel under the lock nut to float it up to the recoil lug!

Ok i bedded a Savage model 12 BVSS and i did everything i have always done to Remmys and Weatherbys. Ok i will say it im a jackass cuz i over looked the grooves on the nut and locked the action into the stock. When i tried to remove it i cracked a brand new stock. So its now up for bid on accurate shooter.
