I just bought one from Jim at Northland Shooters Supply in 204 Ruger, and I'm just waiting for it to arrive.
My question is, "Should I glass bed the stock?? Is it neccessary to do this or is it OK from factory?
Thanks!

My vlp stock had a pretty good fit out of the factory, was having no troubles putting 5 6.5mm's under a dime at 100. That being said, with the addition of the bull barrel I just put on it and a bit of opening up the barrel channel; I skim bedded the front screw and the recoil lug to help support the heft of the heavy tube.

Both of my Model 12 VLP DBM's are piller bedded. Not sure about the older Model 12 VLP's without DBM's.
Thanks Fellas...when it arrives I'll shoot it first and go from there.
Rcinit, did you pillar bed your VLP or does it come bedded from factory??
It was pillar bedded at the factory. One of them is a year old and the other is less than 6 months.
As I said, I don't have the rifle yet but I didn't think that they come pillar bedded. I dosen't mention that on Savage's website...did I miss something?
You're right it does not say that they are on Savages website anywhere that I could find. However, they do come with two pillars installed. The barrels are free floated too.
Thanks man..that's great news!
Why wouldn't they advertise such a good selling point??
