Shilen S. Match 28" 6.5 creedmoor 8twist bull will not shoot berger hybrid. But loves 123 gn lapua scenans.
Puts five 123gn inside credit Card at 500 yards.

If you have the Berger manual reread the section on seating bullets. IIRC they state to start at 0 and move back in 0.030 increments out to as much as 0.120, and when you find a depth that is showing promise work in and out from there in small increments.
Personally I would try the Sierra before I went through the expense of the Berger's, I use Berger only in my 6BR, Sierra's in everything else.
I was thinking of 136 /139 lapuas cuz it likes 123 lapua scenars.
Maybe the shape. I think (lonewolf) said he has never seen a shilen not shoot SMK.

My Shilen 06 likes the Hornady ELD 208s a lot.
Sub 1/2 MOA (not by a lot but consistently so) Sometimes I get better groups with other bullets but no consistently.
You can try backing the Bergers out, but some guns just don't like some bullets. If someone can figure out why, they will make a ton of money.
It does like the SMK, not sure which version I have though (in 308 at least there are two)
My shilen shot the hybrid 140's pretty well.
I was jumping them over a 1/10th of an inch over 44 grains of H4350 in a Winchester case.
It likes the 140 ELD-M's a bit better though
Just found #40 142 smk in bedroom. I will shoot them Thursday.
6.5 Creedmoor 44gn. H4350 ? I stopped @ 43gn.

Thinking back my 243 CCI with match chamber and 1:8 twist shot the hybrids into little tiny groups but when I switched to a 6BR they wouldn't shoot worth a damn. Switched over to the 105 target bullet and back to shooting little groups. Some barrels just don't like some bullets, test, test, and test some more.

I just ran a 10 shot group. A bit humbling. I shoot under 5/8 moa with known good loads.
This was a trail load that looked good so I though what the heck.
7/8 MOA when all was said and done. Takes a lot of focus to do 10 in a row.

Some exaggerate, I don't think you are one of them.
I am honest about reports on my efforts. Probably too old to have gotten into this to get real good but keep improving though its harder under 1/2 MOA.
My goal was to become a sub 5/8 MOA shooter and I have gotten there pretty much (sans a bad day and experiment loads I do a lot of - goal is to find low cost bullets that shoot well.)
If I could shoot 7 inches at 1000 I would be in hog heaven. Longest accessible range we have is 300 (and cost $25) - I was delighted to get 7/16 MOA on most of the groups (5 shot) with a couple that held that for 4 and lost one).
I don't think I am a long range shooter type, the wind issues alone and the learning curve there. Mirage, heat waves and all that at 300 were a challenge. In Alaska on a good day we don't have those. 75 that day and that's about equal to 85-90 anywhere else (Sun angles and atmosphere). We have a Utah refugee who wanted to escape the heat and hot days here kill him (he does farm work on the side)
I've had a few times when I swore a certain bullet "just wouldn't shoot" in my rifle barrel. When I revisited that bullet later and didn't start to play with seating depths until I'd made sure I had my case prep down (for uniform neck tensions) and had done my load workup with some fairly small charge weight increments and bullets seated at the lands. I only shoot 5 shot groups for load workup.
When I had my charge weight down to the point I was getting the best group I could with just charge weight only then did I start seating bullets deeper.
I read of people having difficulties with a given bullet but when I read their tales of woe it seems like they are trying to work off a starting jump and and charge weights either they, or a freind, had good luck with.
I may burn up some more powder and use a few more bullets but I find that working across the scale from min to published max (sometimes more) charge weights and seating depths from 0 jump to .150" I've had better luck in the hunt for "bugholes".
FWIW,,I had the same issue with my 223 and was getting really pissed off.This is a McGowin barrel.
Anyway I found that a .030 JUMP WAS THE MAGIC NUMBER..I also started at the lowest low
advised it the book. Using CFE 223 I can put 6 in approx. 1 1/4 inch at 300 yards..Then the more
jump the worse it got. Back to .030 and excellent....But I have to agree that some barrel JUST
WILL NOT SHOOT THEM. I found that 85 gr Barns bullets like the same amount of jump..I have some
77 gr Noslers that I am working on right now..And I really think with some experminting I will
be able to get the 90 grain bullets to work as well..I shoot FClass paper targets so I need a bit
more accuracy that steel shooters do...Good luck..Like I said,start low and put them in the same hole...
